Our guide, Tim, was very informative throughout the walk, and very conscious of our safety throughout. He even gave advise to other hikers on the trail if he thought they were being a bit casual about their safety! The walk itself is stunning, with breath-taking scenary and plenty of fantastic views. My only advice would be 1) this walk is not suitable for those who suffer vertigo, 2) wear sensible footwear, at the very least decent walking shoes and 3) make sure you have a waterproof jacket!
A playground for both sun seekers and adventurists, Madeira makes a great fit for walking fans. And on this tour, you'll trek a chunk of the scenery-drenched route between the coastal city of Machico and Porto da Cruz. Follow an expert guide on a four-hour hike that rewards with wow-factor photo spots, plus a fascinating array of wildlife and vegetation.
