Things to do in Commerce Square
Lisbon’s Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), situated on the site of the former Royal Palace, is the city’s main square today. Looking over the Tagus River from its south side, Commerce Square is the cultural and commercial heart of Lisbon. Closed on three sides by its characteristic yellow painted buildings, there is an abundance of architectural beauty to admire from Commerce Square including the Rua Augusta Arch and the Equestrian Statue of Joseph I. Formerly the docking port for all goods arriving in Lisbon, this was truly the most bustling point of the city. Although no longer an active commercial port, the square maintains its significance today as the “door” to Lisbon. Near all major central attractions of the city, a tour around the Praça do Comércio is a must-do on any trip to Lisbon!

Reviews Commerce Square
“We loved the walking tour. Our guide Chon, was engaging and knowledgeable and made the tour fun.Lots of opportunities for questions to be asked. The stop offs for pastel de natas and a snack and wine were fab, and we were with a lovely group of people. Learned and saw a lot.”
“I went and did it all again I loved it so much.”
“Das Boot war sehr alt. Es fährt los und nach 5 min. stoppt es ein paar Meter weiter und hält dort für 15 min. Das hat überhaupt keinen Sinn gemacht. Die Mitarbeiter hätten uns gleich zu den nächsten Stopp schicken können, dann hätten wir nicht noch eine Stunde warten müssen.”
“Really enjoyed the walk around Lisbon and learning about the history!”
