Things to do in Louvre Abu Dhabi
The Louvre Abu Dhabi opened in November 2017 to tell the stories of the world through its permanent and temporary displays. With around 8,000 square meters of exhibition space, this 'museum-city' houses works of art and artefacts from the prehistoric to the contemporary age across cultures and continents.
Located in the Cultural District of Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, the museum’s design has been inspired by its surrounding landscapes and combines concrete, water and light in the most magical way. An architectural marvel in itself, the museum was designed as a ‘floating dome of light and shade’ by the celebrated architect Jean Nouvel. The museum's 55 buildings are linked by the incredible dome formed of 7,850 steel-stars and as the sun passes above, its light filters through creating an enchanting and captivating effect.
Split into four wings, the museum houses twelve permanent thematized galleries. Louvre Abu Dhabi presents a chronological history of humanity across the eastern and western worlds as it aims to unite the stories of human creativity between cultures. The museum is home to many world class temporary exhibitions and also a Children’s Museum, where children are inspired to learn about art through activities and fun.
The museum has two cafes, as well as a fine dining restaurant and a boutique, the perfect place to find a gift or memento of your visit. Surrounded by water, the museum is accessible by land or sea. Located just over an hour from Dubai by car, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a must-see for anyone in its proximity!

Reviews Louvre Abu Dhabi
“Excelente visita”
